Professorship in Civil Engineering, University of Dundee, UK

The University of Dundee wishes to appoint a Chair in Civil Engineering as part of its strategic investment in Civil Engineering. The appointment will reinforce recent appointments made under the Dundee Fellows programme. The Division of Civil Engineering has internationally-recognised research strengths in Environmental Fluid Mechanics, Geotechnical Engineering and Concrete Technology but the present appointment can be filled by candidates with research expertise in any branch of Civil Engineering. The University has recently established a joint, interdisciplinary Offshore Renewables Institute with the University of Aberdeen and candidates having research interests relevant to this initiative are particularly encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will have an established international research profile and a strong track record in attracting external research funding. While this is primarily a research-focused leadership role, the successful candidate will also contribute to the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes and provide service to the national and international academic and professional communities.

Appointment will be on the professorial scale, £54,826 per annum minimum. Informal enquires are welcome and should be made to Prof. Peter A Davies, (p.a.davies@dundee.ac.uk), tel: +44 (0)1382 384346.

Further details and an application pack are available from www.jobs.dundee.ac.uk. Closing date: 20 April 2014.
