Abstract submissions for EGU 2026 are now open, and we invite contributions to the session “Debris flows, advances in mechanics, monitoring, modelling and risk management” (Conveners: A. Leonardi, J. Hirschberg, M. Hürlimann, S. Li, V. Stammberger)

The session offers a geomechanical perspective on debris flow, and includes work on initiation and propagation processes, erosion and deposition, laboratory and field observations, sensor networks, remote sensing, numerical and data driven models, and applications to hazard and risk management under changing environmental conditions.
