In 2012, the University of Nantes, through its Foundation of Projects, founds its first Chair dedicated to Civil Engineering and Eco-construction. The Chair, established for a period of four years, includes the hiring of a research director (or equivalent) as the Director of the Chair, a research associate, a technician, a part-time secretary and a PhD student.

The recruitment of a professor as the Director of the Chair is possible through a convention between his/her University or Institution and the University of Nantes. The selected Director of the Chair will participate in the recruitment and selection process of the staff involved in the chair.
