The 2nd International Workshop on Geomechanics and Energy will take place 13-15 October 2015 in Celle (Germany). The deadline for the submission of abstracts is June 10th.
The goal of the workshop is to provide a forum for scientists and practicing engineers alike to present the most recent contributions of geomechanics to various fields of energy. The areas of interest are related to geomechanical applications in the subsurface extraction of energy and the storage of waste (i.e. nuclear waste), including the different levels of investigations: in-situ investigation, laboratory experiment, constitutive modelling and numerical field modelling. Specific topics of interest include, but not limited to: (i) hydrocarbon exploration and production, (ii) underground storage, and (iii) geothermal energy.
“Geomechanics and Energy” Workshop will be running in parallel to the Third Sustainable Earth Sciences Conference & Exhibition (SES 2015). Participants will also be able to attend the technical sessions of the SES 2015 conference. By combining the two meetings, we hope to create a strong multi-disciplinary and mutually reinforcing programme and thus promoting the interaction between our Geomechanics community and the Earth Science commnunity.
