The School of Petroleum Engineering (SCOPE) is amongst the top Petroleum Engineering departments around the world with substantial research funding from both government and private sectors. As a part of UNSW’s strategic initiative in unconventional energy and mineral resources, SCOPE is seeking a highly motivated academic researcher in the area of Theoretical and Applied Geomechanics. Applicants with exceptional research record in the very early stages of their academic career (up to 3 years post-PhD) are particularly encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will hold a PhD in the field of in Geomechanics, Theoretical and Applied Mechanics or Applied Mathematics, with demonstrated expertise in all three disciplines.

A Postdoctoral position is available at LTDS of Ecole centrale de Lyon (France). The research project concerns the modelling of filtration phenomena in geomaterials and in particular the design of a filtration criterion valid for gravels and ballast. More details in the PDF file.
