A research assistant position for supporting a PhD degree applicant is available in the geotechnical engineering program at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. There are several main research fields for the assistantships in geotechnical engineering in the areas of underground construction/mining, resilient infrastructures and soil/rock erosion characteristics. Highly motivated individuals with an earned Master’s degree and strong academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Having a strong record of publication and knowledge of Finite Element modeling and familiarity with constitutive model developments as well as FLAC or PLAXIS or ABAQUS is a plus.
