Mini-symposium on Hydro-mechanical Large Deformation Problems (in Geotechnical Engineering)

As an opportunity to present and discuss advances in the computational simulation of large deformation problems, a mini-symposium will be organized at the Interpore 2017 conference, 8-11 May 2017 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The conference works on the basis of submitted abstracts only (no papers) and then oral/poster presentations in a series of mini-symposiums. All participants will have the opportunity to orally present their work (15 mins for oral contributions or 3 mins for poster presenters, in addition to their poster). Abstract submission is now open until November 14th.

Minisympoisum on Thermo-hydro-mechanics of porous media at the Interpore 2017 conference

The Thermo-Hydro-Mechanical (THM) behaviour of soils occupies a central role in many coupled processes in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering, such as geo-energy, nuclear waste disposal, thermo-active structures and atmospheric interaction of earthworks. In order to provide a forum for academics and practitioners in these areas to exchange their research on thermo-hydro-mechanical behaviour of soils, a mini-symposium on the topic is being organised as part of the Interpore 2017 conference, to be held 8-11 May 2017 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. This mini-symposium is an opportunity to present experimental research, field work and computational studies focussing both on fundamental aspects of THM behaviour and its application to engineering problems.

Extension of the Deadline for the Poster Session in Aussois

The ALERT Poster session will be held during the ALERT Workshop in October 3-5, 2016 in Aussois. Those who are interested are asked to submit their abstracts (both word/openoffice and pdf files are required) by email to the coordinator Nadia Benahmed using the attached abstract form (doc).

The new deadline for the abstracts submission September 12, 2016.

TERRE Network 1st Annual School

TERRE Network will be holding its 1st School and Workshop ‘Fundamentals for an interdisciplinary approach to design and climate-adaptation of geo-infrastructure’ in Naples, hosted by the University of Naples Federico II, on the 26th-27th September 2016. More information, including a programme and registration form is available on the TERRE website: http://www.terre-etn.com/terre-schools-and-workshops/

Registration for the ALERT Workshop & School 2016 is open!

The registration for the ALERT Geomaterials Workshop and School 2016 is open now (the programme of the workshop and school is still preliminary)! (The registration is closed). Please read the hints in the registration form! After filling the form and pressing the button “Register”, a window will open with your invoice. Please print the window with the invoice for your records! You will also get an email with the registration data afterwards. In case of the registration of the ALERT members, the corresponding representative of the ALERT institution will receive the registration data too.

The deadline for the registration is the September 23rd! The accomodation in Aussois will be processed in the order of the registrations (see the hints in the registration form). Please note that the number of rooms in the CNRS “Centre Paul Langevin“ is limited.
