The laboratory of soil mechanics (LMS) at Swiss Federal Institution of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL) has several PhD vacancies in the area of geotechnical engineering (see pdf document).

The Nottingham Transportation Engineering Centre (NTEC) and the Nottingham Centre for Geomechanics (NCG) will be undertaking a large multi-disciplinary EPSRC-funded project related to the assessment of new materials within railway track drainage systems.
