Multiple tenure-track positions in civil engineering at University of Colorado Boulder

There is a multiple-position tenure-track faculty search in Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder, see http://ceae.colorado.edu/faculty-staff/faculty-search/ . For those candidates interested in Structural Engineering and Structural Mechanics, and/or Geotechnical Engineering and Geomechanics, please consider applying.

Internship research position at IFP Energies nouvelles

An internship research position is available at IFP Energies nouvelles, Rueil-Malmaison Cedex (France). The goal of the internship is the development of the S-FEM (smoothed finite element method) in Code_Aster, the free finite element solver developed by EDF R&D (France) actually used in sedimentary basin hydro-mechanical coupling at IFPEN. The expected duration is 20 to 24 weeks. See the attached flyer for more details.

PhD position at Chalmers University, Sweden

A research position is available for a highly motivated and talented individual with experience/interest in design and development of apparatuses for material testing in a collaborative project between Chalmers and Lund funded by Vetenskapsrådet (http://www.vr.se/inenglish). The aim of the proposal is to improve the fundamental understanding of fine-grained granular matter, such as quick clay, by experimentally studying the evolution of the structure of these materials on the micro scale for several controlled mechanical loading conditions. More details in the pdf file.

Post-doctoral position on “Hydrodynamics and particle transport modelling in preferential flow”

A Post-doctoral opportunity is available at GeoRessources laboratory, University of Lorraine, France, in the research field of Hydrodynamics and Transport Processes. Applications are invited for a 12 months contract to work on the development of original numerical approaches for the study of particle transport in preferential flows. More details in the pdf-file.

PostDoc position at Deltares

The position involves a 12-months contract at Deltares for the “Numerical modeling of impact and vibratory driven offshore piles with MPM”. The position is part of a larger project to translate field test results of monopile installation to sites with other densities and pile diameters using the numerical MPM approach. Supervisor is prof Frits van Tol from Delft University of Technology. More details in pdf.
