Advanced course on Modeling of Localized Inelastic Deformation
Advanced course on Modeling of Localized Inelastic Deformation taught by Milan Jirásek will take place in Prague, Czech Republic, on 15-19 September 2014. This course provides an overview of modeling approaches used in the mechanics of inelastic materials and structures, with special attention to the objective description of highly localized deformation modes such as cracks or shear bands.

After filling the form and pressing the button “Register”, a window will open with your invoice. Please print the window with the invoice for your records! You will also get an email with the registration data afterwards. In case of the registration of ALERT members, the corresponding representative of the ALERT institution will receive the registration data too.
The deadline for the registration is September 15th! The accomodation in Aussois will be processed in the order of the registrations (see the hints in the registration form).

The invited Special Lecture during the ALERT Workshop 2014 will be presented by Prof. Itai Einav from University of Sydney. The envisaged title of his talk is Geomaterials under extremes.
ALERT Poster Session 2014
The ALERT Poster session will be held during the ALERT Workshop from September 29 to October 1, 2014 in Aussois. Those who are interested are asked to submit their abstracts (both word/openoffice and pdf files are required) by email to the coordinator Donia Marzougui using the attached abstract form (files as odt and pdf). The deadline for the abstracts submission is September 10, 2014.
Election of the ALERT Board of Directors
The election of the new ALERT Board of Directors (BoD) will take place in Aussois 29-30 September 2014, during the ALERT workshop. The BoD is composed of 15 members elected by the General Assembly. Each Institution has one vote. The vote is cast by the ALERT named representative of the Institution (whose name is specified on the ALERT website), or by another person belonging to the same Institution, delegated by written mandate by the named representative.
As foreseen by the ALERT Internal Regulations, candidatures must be submitted by a simple e-mail to the address of the ALERT Director. All permanent teachers, researchers and technicians belonging to an ALERT member Institution are eligible candidates for the BoD. The deadline for the candidatures is 15 September 2014.
