    Victor Mwango Bowa is a final year PhD Student in Civil Engineering with a major in Geotechnical Engineering at Wuhan University of Technology, in Wuhan, China. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining Engineering from the Copperbelt University. He later earned a MSc. Civil (Geotechnical) Engineering from Wuhan University of Technology. He has over 9 years of practical work experience after working in large scale open pits and underground mines as a Geotechnical Engineer in Zambia, Namibia, South Africa and China. His research area include; Blasting optimisations; slope stability evaluation, reinforcement mechanism and its optimization design, stabilization of underground mine openings. He has published more than 8 journal articles in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) and Engineering Indexed (EI) journals, and presided on 6 research projects which have successfully been implemented. He is proficient in Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering software that includes; ROCSCIENCE packages, Numerical Codes (FLAC3D; UDEC; 3DEC).
