Postdoc on Multidirectional Loading in Anchors for Floating Offshore

TU Delft is hiring a Postdoctoral Researcher in Multidirectional Loading in Anchors for Floating Offshore Structures. This position focuses on understanding anchor behavior under complex loading conditions through advanced experimental and numerical methods, contributing to the development of reliable anchoring systems for floating offshore wind as part of the Tailwind project. We are looking for candidates with a PhD in geotechnical engineering and proven experience in numerical modeling of offshore foundation systems. Knowledge and experience of physical testing would be an advantage.

  1. I am highly interested in this Postdoc position on Multidirectional Loading in Anchors for Floating Offshore Structures, as it strongly aligns with my research background in geotechnical engineering, numerical modelling, physical modelling, and soil–structure interaction.

I recently completed my Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Engineering) from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, India. My doctoral research focused on the dynamic response of buried flexible pipelines under traffic loading in sandy sloped embankments, combining small-scale physical model testing with PLAXIS 3D finite element simulations.

Through my doctoral research, I developed strong experience in experimental geotechnics, computational geomechanics, cyclic and dynamic loading, and interpretation of complex soil–structure interaction behaviour. I am particularly interested in this opportunity because it involves advanced experimental and numerical investigation of foundation and anchoring systems under complex loading conditions, which closely matches my research interests.

I have also published research papers in reputed journals, including Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering, and I am strongly motivated to contribute to research in offshore geotechnics and foundation systems.

I would be very glad to contribute to this research direction and further strengthen my expertise through postdoctoral research in this area.
