PhD position at Belgian Nuclear Research Centre

Candidates are sought for an upcoming PhD position (start: Sep 2015) in the field of experimental and numerical investigation of multiscale transport behaviour of concrete subjected to combined calcium leaching and carbonation.
This is set in the context of a study of long term behaviour of concrete for applications such as potential radioactive waste disposal facilities. This will be a 4 year study fully funded by SCK-CEN (Belgian Nuclear Research Centre). The potential candidates should hold a master’s degree preferably in material science or civil/structural or mechanical engineering and should have an aptitude for both experimental and numerical studies. The position is open for both national and international candidates. Note that the chosen candidate will be further interviewed by a scientific committee. An initial project proposal is available in the link below.
