The deadline for the submission of abstracts for the ALERT Geomaterials Workshop 2017 (28th Edition) has been extended up to May 31, 2017!
Please submit your abstracts by email directly to the coordinators using the Workshop abstract form (doc, odt, pdf). Since time for the presentations is limited, only a part of the submitted abstracts can be chosen for the oral presentations. Therefore, we invite you to submit your abstract as soon as possible. The presentation can also be submitted as a poster. The abstracts of the posters will be published in a separate booklet (ISSN registered).
The video of Prof. Takashi Matsushima giving the Special lecture at the annual meeting in Aussois 2016 is now available online. The lecture was entitled Planetary Geomechanics.
The ALERT Doctoral School 2017 is entitled Discrete Element modeling. It will take place in Aussois, from 5th to 7th October, 2017. The school organisers are Gaël Combe (3SR Grenoble) and Stefan Luding (University Twente). Continue reading

As it was announced in the programme, this year some practical exercise sessions will be organized during the School; in order to actively and profitably participate to these practical session on numerical examples, you are requested to bring your own laptop (no additional laptops will be provided by the organisation).
The Organisers of the School built a Virtual Machine using the free (open source) VirtualBox software, which is available for all platforms: Windows, Mac and Linux. This means that all participants of the Doctoral School will be able to run the Virtual Machine we prepared on their personal laptop, regardless of their operating system. The two following two conditions must be strictly respected:
The usage of VirtualBox is very practical as all participants will have the same environment, ensuring a consistent experience in the audience.

The ALERT Poster session will be held during the ALERT Workshop in October 3-5, 2016 in Aussois. Those who are interested are asked to submit their abstracts (both word/openoffice and pdf files are required) by email to the coordinator Nadia Benahmed using the attached abstract form (doc). The deadline for the abstracts submission is September 5, 2016.
