A Post-doctoral position and a PhD position on “long-term behaviour of cyclically loaded offshore foundations“

A Post-doctoral opportunity and a PhD position are available at Division „Buildings & Structures“ at Federal Institute for Materials Research in Berlin, Germany. Both projects are concerned with the long-term prediction of plastic strains of cyclically loaded pile and bucket foundations for Offshore Wind Energy Converters.
Applications are invited for a 24 months Post Doc contract or for a 3 year contract to work on a PhD thesis. More details in the pdf-files (1 , 2).

PhD Position in Geomechanics at Heriot-Watt University

A PhD position in Geomechanics is available at Heriot-Watt University in Scotland (4 years funding as part of the UK government NERC CDT funding scheme). The project entitled Bots in Rocks: Intelligent Rock Deformation for Fault Rock Petrophysical Properties is about using sensors to detect actual deformation states in lab deformed rock samples.

Internship research position at IFP Energies nouvelles

An internship research position is available at IFP Energies nouvelles, Rueil-Malmaison Cedex (France). The goal of the internship is the development of the S-FEM (smoothed finite element method) in Code_Aster, the free finite element solver developed by EDF R&D (France) actually used in sedimentary basin hydro-mechanical coupling at IFPEN. The expected duration is 20 to 24 weeks. See the attached flyer for more details.
