A PhD project is available within the Geomechanics Group of the Department of Civil Engineering at Monash University (Australia) in partnership with The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO). The project deals with landslide issues – SPH simulation and/or laboratory tests. Applications are invited for the next round of PhD scholarship at Monash University with deadline May 31st 2015. 2nd German Soil Mechanics Conference

The 2nd German Soil Mechanics Conference (2. Deutsche Bodenmechanik Tagung) will take place 19 May 2015 at Ruhr-Universität in Bochum, Germany.
Established two years ago in 2013 the conference gives attention to recent topics and brings together young scientists with experienced researchers from the soil mechanics community. This year the one-day-conference is divided into three sessions, which are entitled „Material behaviour and constitutive modelling“, „Soil as a mulitphase system“ and „Soil Mechanics: Application and Challenges“. Although the general conference language is German, invited lectures will be given in English language.
