The Division of GeoEngineering at Chalmers is looking for a dynamic and talented individual for the position of Marie Curie Fellow (Experienced Researcher) to work on constitutive model development, verification and validation, with focus on modelling rate-dependent behaviour of soft natural soils. The holder of the post is supposed to play an active role in the EC/FP7 funded IAPP (Industry Academia Pathways and Partnerships) project CREEP (Creep of Geomaterials), focussing on research and knowledge exchange activities. The position is a 12 month fixed term appointment (1 fte).

International Workshop on Geomechanics and Energy will be held in Lausanne (Switzerland) on 26-28 November 2013, under the auspices of EAGE. The final annoucement, including the workshop program, is attached. Also, more information about the event can be found on the workshop website.
As already announced in June, the ALERT Poster Session will be held during the ALERT Workshop 2013 from September 30 to October 2 in Aussois. Please submit your posters by email directly to the coordinator Donia Marzougui. The deadline will be September 22, 2013.
The computational poromechanics laboratory in the Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics Department of the Columbia University in New York is seeking a PhD candidate. The successful candidate should have (1) a master degree in applied mechanics, geomechanics or related disciplines, (2) a strong background in continuum mechanics, finite element method and constitutive modelings, (3) be proficient in C++ and FORTRAN code developments and (4) possess excellent communication skills. Knowledge in geostatistics and multiscale modeling is a plus.
