Two positions are open from the 01. October 2022 at the Chair for Geomechanics and multiphysics Systems (GemS) of the Technical University Clausthal as research assistant (m/f/d) (each position is 100 %, E13 TV-L) initially limited to three years full-time. As part of your work, you have the opportunity to pursue a PhD or Habilitation at TU Clausthal.
The focus of research at the Chair of Geomechanics and Multiphysical Systems is the material behavior of geomaterials, taking into account thermal, hydraulic, biological and chemical interactions. In order to describe and predict the coupled response of intact rock and rock mass under different conditions and across scales, theoretical, numerical and laboratory aspects have to be considered. The applications are mainly in the fields of nuclear waste disposal, energy storage and energy production. As part of one of the main research areas of GemS, new, targeted simulation strategies in the area of multiphysics are to be developed. For the simulation of multiphysical processes in the subsurface and their influence on the mechanical response of geomaterials, flexible, suitable simulators are required, which must be constantly further developed and expanded. A strong parallelization and efficient solution strategies are of great advantage.
Did we raise your attention? Then send us your application documents (cover letter, CV, certificates, extracts from publications and/or master thesis) until June 30th 2022 via email in .pdf format (eleni.gerolymatoutu-clausthalde).
