Thank you for your support to the AGERP lecture series in 2020 and 2021. At AGERP’20 and AGERP’21, we have had 16 lectures and 1 panel discussion that brought together 38 renowned geoengineering experts and a huge audience from 126 countries through a free to access knowledge sharing platform. Apart from the generous support from the experts that appeared in AGERP’20 and AGERP’21, it is your participation and appreciation that largely contributed to the success of AGERP.

In the first and second edition of the AGERP lecture series, we covered quite a breadth of topics related to geotechnical engineering. With the third edition we intend to dive further and deeper into some of the specialised topics in geotechnical engineering. To that end, we are pleased to invite you to the second workshop of the AGERP 2022 which will be an International Workshop on Unsaturated Soils, this workshop is scheduled to be held from 24th to 26th May 2022 (Australia). You may register for the workshop at www.age-rp.com. Program for the workshop is summarised in the attached flyer.

NTNU’s Geotechnical Group offers a PhD Course in Soil Modelling from October 3rd to 7th, 2022. This course provides a background for development and application of the soil models used in continuum-based computer codes for geotechnical applications. The course focuses on soil behaviour, elasto-plastic theory, hyperplasticity, selected material models and their parameters. It also provides some insight into numerical implementation of soil models. The course aims at providing a general theoretical framework for interpretation of the mechanical behaviour of soils.”

Everyone is invited to a brand new short course covering theory and practical implementation of fluid and thermal couplings in particulate systems with Yade software. The course will be held in Amsterdam, Netherlands from 20/06/2022 to 22/06/2022, where participants will learn hands-on with Robert Caulk and Bruno Chareyre. EXTENDED ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Contributions to the Conference will be in the form of an Extended Abstract (2 to 4 pages). The Extended Abstract should clearly indicate the originality and the relevance of the contribution. Rules and Instructions reported below.

GENERAL RULES

• The Conference programme will include selected oral communications and poster presentations.
• Extended abstracts must be submitted, using the conference template, through the on-line conference submission system. Extended abstracts submitted by other means will not be accepted.
• Extended abstracts will be reviewed by the International Organizing Committee and external peer reviewers.
• Authors can indicate the most appropriate topic for their contribution as well as their preferred method of presentation. The International Organizing Committee reserves the right to reassign the accepted extended abstract to a more appropriate topic and/or method of presentation.
• It is anticipated that the extended abstract will be published in the conference proceedings provided that at least one author is registered to the conference.
• Only one extended abstract for each presenting author will be admitted.

A short course entitled “Propagation of Mechanical Waves in Deformable Solids and Meta-Materials” is organized in Pavia (Italy) on September 5-9, 2022.

The course will be held in presence.

A limited number of PhD students and post-docs who are not supported by their own academic institutions can apply to student residences in Pavia which offer lodging at a particularly convenient rate.
