The next Powders and Grains conference is organized by Franck Radjai in Montpellier. The Powders and Grains is an influential conference in which participate every four years many researchers from different disciplines including in particular geomaterials community from all over the world. Since time for the presentations is limited, only a part of the submitted abstracts can be chosen for the oral presentations. Therefore, we invite you to submit your abstract as soon as possible. The presentation can also be submitted as a poster. The abstracts of the posters will be published in a separate booklet (ISSN registered).
A full time position for a researcher with interests in granular physics, geomechanics, continuum mechanics, computer modelling and the discrete element methods (DEM) is available at the University of Twente (Netherlands), to work on DEM modelling of wave propagation in granular materials. The Université de Pau (France) and the University of Durham (UK) are advertising PhD studentships, which will lead to a double degree by both universities. The studentships are offered within the framework of the “Marie Curie” Network TERRE (further details in the attached document).
A position for a post-doctoral researcher is available at the GeM laboratory (University of Nantes). The project is designed to start a new numerical FEM approach to model internal erosion, complementary to the experimental approach developed by the team.
