The Department of Environment and Biodiversity at the University of Salzburg (Austria) is inviting applications for a fully funded 3-year PhD position (Prae-Doc, 75% / 30h) within the Doctorate School “Dynamic Mountain Environments & Society” (DynamitE Vol. 2).
Project Title: CRAG – Critical Infrastructure Risk from Alpine Geohazards (Landslide Hazard Detection through Coupled 3D Stress Modeling and Multiscale Monitoring)
About the Project:
With climate change accelerating slope instability across mountain regions, this project investigates failure thresholds of rock slopes threatening critical infrastructure. The successful candidate will bridge high-performance numerical 3D stress modeling (Finite Cell Method) with multiscale empirical field monitoring.
