The Bureau of ALERT Geomaterials has decided to fund the ALERT PhD Prize 2015. The participation to the prize is open to all the PhD students coming from institutions belonging to ALERT, that have discussed their PhD thesis before December 31, 2014. The deadline for sending the dossiers is May 31, 2015.

As announced already in October 2014, ALERT Workshop 2015 (26th Edition) will be held in Aussois from September 28 to September 30, 2015. Please submit your abstracts by email directly to the coordinators using the Workshop abstract form (doc, odt, pdf).
Since time for the presentations is limited, only a part of the submitted abstracts can be chosen for the oral presentations. Therefore, we invite you to submit your abstract as soon as possible. The presentation can also be submitted as a poster. The abstracts of the posters will be published in a separate booklet (ISSN registered).
The deadline for the abstract submission is April 30, 2015. For any communication about your participation to the workshops, please contact directly the coordinators of the workshop sessions.
There are 2 open PhD positions at Delft University of Technology (Section of Hydraulic Engineering) in the field of dike safety and reliability (see PDF). Especially the second position on back-analysis of dike failures would require a sound geotechnical background and would be co-supervised by the Section of Geo-engineering. The application deadline is March 15th, 2015.
A Post-Doc position is open at Politecnico di Torino. The research activity will focus on the mechanical behavior of reservoir sands. A good background competences on constitutive modelling are expected. More details in pdf.
