Two open PhD positions at TU Delft

There are 2 open PhD positions at Delft University of Technology (Section of Hydraulic Engineering) in the field of dike safety and reliability (see PDF). Especially the second position on back-analysis of dike failures would require a sound geotechnical background and would be co-supervised by the Section of Geo-engineering. The application deadline is March 15th, 2015.

A Post-doctoral position and a PhD position on “long-term behaviour of cyclically loaded offshore foundations“

A Post-doctoral opportunity and a PhD position are available at Division „Buildings & Structures“ at Federal Institute for Materials Research in Berlin, Germany. Both projects are concerned with the long-term prediction of plastic strains of cyclically loaded pile and bucket foundations for Offshore Wind Energy Converters.
Applications are invited for a 24 months Post Doc contract or for a 3 year contract to work on a PhD thesis. More details in the pdf-files (1 , 2).

PhD Position in Geomechanics at Heriot-Watt University

A PhD position in Geomechanics is available at Heriot-Watt University in Scotland (4 years funding as part of the UK government NERC CDT funding scheme). The project entitled Bots in Rocks: Intelligent Rock Deformation for Fault Rock Petrophysical Properties is about using sensors to detect actual deformation states in lab deformed rock samples.
